In July 2026, ALINX officially announced its membership in SGET (Standardization Group for Embedded Technologies) and its participation in the Open Harmonized FPGA Module (oHFM) standard working group.
As the first FPGA solution provider from mainland China to adopt the oHFM standard, ALINX will contribute to the international FPGA modular specification framework, launching compliant hardware platforms and driving the industry toward standardized, modular, and open ecosystem development.
Traditionally, FPGA hardware design has suffered from fragmented interface definitions, proprietary carrier board layouts, and high vendor lock-in risk. System developers frequently had to redesign power architecture, carrier boards, and high-speed I/O interfaces when switching chips or upgrading performance tiers.
The oHFM standard (SDT.06) created by SGET solves these challenges by establishing a unified, open architecture for FPGA and SoC FPGA modules—allowing them to achieve the same plug-and-play modularity as traditional Computer-on-Module (COM) solutions.
The specification defines two optimized hardware form factors:
oHFM.c (Connector-based): Utilizes high-density board-to-board connectors suited for high-performance processing, prototype validation, and upgradeable field systems.
oHFM.s (Solderable): Uses direct surface-mount soldering for compact, cost-sensitive, and high-reliability mass-production deployments.
As artificial intelligence, edge computing, high-speed networking, and industrial automation rapidly advance, hardware platforms require shorter development cycles and higher platform reusability without sacrificing performance or real-time processing capabilities.
ALINX brings deep expertise in building FPGA development platforms, covering AMD FPGA, domestic Purple Mountain (Pango) FPGA, and heterogeneous FPGA+GPU computing architectures. By incorporating the oHFM standard into its upcoming product roadmap, ALINX will deliver standardized core modules, development kits, and tailored hardware platforms for:
Industrial Control & Automation
Edge AI & Machine Vision
High-Speed Communication Infrastructure
Smart Manufacturing & Intelligent Systems
Headquartered in Germany, SGET (Standardization Group for Embedded Technologies) is an international consortium of leading embedded computing companies and research institutions. SGET drives open, interoperable hardware and software specifications—including SMARC, Qseven, OSM (Open Standard Module), and oHFM—to reduce system integration complexity and foster global ecosystem collaboration.
Joining SGET marks a significant milestone in ALINX’s international strategy. By collaborating with global industry leaders within the oHFM working group, ALINX will continue to merge its hardware development expertise with open international standards, bringing flexible, reliable, and sustainable FPGA platforms to developers worldwide.
