Develop electronic rearview mirror CMS, and achieve strategic cooperation between ALINX Electronics and Yingsai Technology

2023-06-21

Recently, ALINX Electronic Technology (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. and Shanghai Yingsai Electronic Technology Co., Ltd. officially signed a strategic cooperation agreement, announcing that they will work together to promote the design, research and development, and service of electronic rearview mirror products. Both parties will leverage their advantageous resources, continue to promote the depth of cooperation, and help the rapid development of the domestic electronic rearview mirror industry. Tu Jiangping, founder of Yingsai Technology, and Ma Rui, general manager of Xinyi Electronics, attended the ceremony.

Electronic rearview mirror, also known as Camera Monitor System, abbreviated as CMS, mainly uses a combination of camera and monitor to replace traditional optical exterior rearview mirrors. The display mode is to collect images from external cameras, process them, and display them on the cockpit display screen. Compared to the traditional optical rearview mirrors that have always had problems such as "incomplete vision, unclear recognition, easy interference, and high wind resistance", electronic rearview mirrors have a larger field of view (FOV) and clearer field of view, which is beneficial for significantly reducing the risks caused by blind spots. In terms of combating adverse weather conditions such as rain, snow, and fog, as well as external light interference, electronic rearview mirrors also have outstanding advantages, such as reducing glare caused by high beam headlights and poor visibility in low light environments at night through image optimization algorithms (ISP). Due to the fact that the cross-sectional area of external camera equipment can be reduced to half or even lower than that of traditional glass exterior rearview mirrors, electronic rearview mirrors can effectively reduce the vehicle's drag coefficient, thereby bringing intuitive economic benefits such as fuel and electricity savings and increased range.

In recent years, some countries and regions abroad have allowed vehicles equipped with electronic rearview mirrors to be driven on the road. The national standard GB 15084-2022 "Performance and Installation Requirements for Indirect Vision Devices of Motor Vehicles" released by China will be officially implemented on July 1 this year, which officially opens the door to legal compliance for the mass production and operation of vehicles equipped with electronic rearview mirrors in China. It also means that the era of replacing traditional glass exterior rearview mirrors with electronic rearview mirrors in automobiles in China has officially begun. According to professional institutions' predictions, the overall market size of electronic rearview mirrors in China will exceed 6 billion yuan in 2025.

The core team of Shanghai Yingsai Electronic Technology Co., Ltd. has nearly 20 years of experience in traditional rearview mirror design and development, as well as nearly 7 years of experience in localized application and development of electronic rearview mirrors, and has complete forward development capabilities for electronic rearview mirror systems. Its fully self-developed compliance and human-machine simulation tool kit can conduct systematic qualitative and quantitative analysis of regulatory requirements, customer special needs, human-machine interaction effects, etc., thereby accurately and quickly defining the human-machine layout relationship between electronic rearview mirrors and the entire vehicle, as well as the specific parameters and performance indicators of important components.
